Born in 1948 near Diwaniyah, Iraq, Aqil Abbas Al-Ousi graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. He later studied in Paris, obtaining diplomas from the Beaux-Arts and in lithography. He developed a unique method that blends his local and global identities. Al-Ousi’s art, deeply rooted in his Arab heritage, speaks a global visual language. His work exemplifies modernity in the Arab world, merging dreams with reality and highlighting our connection to the world.
